Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Intensive Out-Patient (IOP

Our program provides DBT in an IOP setting.

Using an evidenced-based approach, we provide DBT skills training to adolescents, young adults, and their families’. We focus on teaching skills to address self-destructive, maladaptive behaviors which include chronic suicidal ideations, self-injurious behavior, chronic anxiety / social anxiety, eating disordered behaviors and co-occurring substance abuse.

Our program is a 12-16 week IOP program where patients and their families will focus on DBT skills including: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and the middle path. Other treatment modalities incorporated include; 12-step model, hands on activities, specialty groups, and experiential therapies such as art and yoga.

    Interactive Group Therapy - IOP

    Providing specialized group therapy.

Both patients and their families benefit from a group approach and positive social support. Parents also participate in varied groups, which have been developed to provide parent education and coaching, skills training, and parental support. Each parent works on gaining an understanding and acceptance of their own family dynamics. Our clinicians are dedicated to working with families and the patient to promote change.

Our IOP is an in-person program, meaning that we meet face-to-face. We ensure that all group rooms are sanitized after use. We also require masks to be worn at all times during programming. Please call to make an appointment if you and/or a loved one needs support. A staff member will return your call within 24-48 hours.

    What to Expect

ASSESSMENT: The assessment process begins with the patient/family calling into the agency. We will get some basic information and then schedule an intake assessment. The intake is our comprehensive assessment that occurs face-to-face with the patient and the family / guardian. Once the assessment is completed, we will contact the family within 24-48 hours to discuss a start date, if patient met IOP criteria, or to inform family of reason patient was ineligible for IOP and offer referral information.

ADMISSION TO IOP: On the first day of admission, patients and families meet with an IOP clinician and receive a brief orientation to the program. Upon admission to IOP, the patient will be placed into one or more, (based on highest level of severity first), of our treatment specialty groups. This allows us to comprehensively address patients with dual disorders and accommodate their care based on their present needs. Parent/guardian involvement and attendance on Monday nights are requirements for admission to IOP.
